Looks like it's just you and me then. icon_smile.gif

Let me ask you, what was the reason you went with the gmrs? I debated it for a long time before I finally just bought the FRS radios, mainly because I didn't want to deal with the licensing, especially with how I was planning on using them at the time. It may be too soon to tell, but does the extra range come in handy that much?

the units i bought at Sams were 59.99. it included two radios,a chager that will charge both at same time, nimh batteries, and ear piecesand ptt mike for both radios.also radios recieve noah radio weather stations and will scan all channels.i havent esed the gmrs yet but I know the frs will only go 2 miles on flat land with no cover in way and there are times when camping i want to go a good deal farther.at that price didnt think i could pass it up.

Mr. O, Cleveland's not exactly central Ohio but I thought I'd answer anyway. icon_biggrin.gif We went with the GMRS so we'd actually be able to carry on a conversation at the 2 mile mark. So many people I spoke to said their FRS radios were only good for 3/4 of a mile at best. We've never tested our GMRS to see how far it would actually work, about 3 miles is the farthest we've ever tried and it worked great.

BTW-we did obtain our license from the FCC
