BAPMAN CREW
I got a new computer and it has Windows 8. When I try to upload "Field Notes" I can't find them in browse. I look through the Downloads file and nothing. On my GPS it appears they get transferred to the computer but can't find them. Also the computer doesn't seem to recognize the unit as it doesn't so up on the computer extensions. But it does do "send to GPS" (from cache page) just fine. So it looks like I can send but not receive. Quote Link to comment
user13371
What firmware version on your GPS? Have you asked this question on Delorme's forum? Http://forum.delorme.com Quote Link to comment
BAPMAN CREW
Yes I have a post there, but no response. I really think it is Windows 8 thing because I didn't have issues with Window XP. Quote Link to comment
Gitchee-Gummee
Sounds more to me that it is the browser... you say the field notes appear to upload, but you cannot find them. Switch the "Compatibility Mode" of your browser (guessing IE... it seems to be the most disfuntional)... find the toggle in your browser Tools. The compatibility problem extends to the website... not the GPSr, it (the browser) doesn't display some pages properly. Quote Link to comment
Team CowboyPapa
Yes I have a post there, but no response. I really think it is Windows 8 thing because I didn't have issues with Window XP. It doesn't appear to be a Windows 8 problem for me. You might want to provide more detail, step-by-step. I just ran two tests and field notes went up to geocaching.com as expected: PC: Toshiba laptop Windows OS: 8.1 PN-40 FW: 2.8.543156 Topo NA 10.0: Version 10.0.1 (Topo 10 patch installed) IE Version: 11.0.3 Personal speculation: The Topo NA 10. Sync function uploaded the Field Notes directly from the connected PN-XX to geocaching.com without leaving a copy on the host PC. Edited March 4, 2014 by Team CowboyPapa Quote Link to comment
