reliably play audio on iphone

I'm still looking for a reliable way to play sounds on the iPhone. I'm using Urwigo, and sounds are only playing sometimes. It seems like the sound will play when I first open the cartridge, but if I click the iPhone home button, and then return to Wherigo, the sound doesn't play, and I only see a message at the bottom that displays the sound filename.

 

Does anyone have a reliable way to play audio on the iphone?

In our german forum we have had a discussion about great problems with the updates of iPhone player. In an earlier version the greatest bug was that boolean variables weren't saved, when the game was saved. After a restore the variable had a wrong status, neither false nor true, but such as "nil" oder "null". A compare doesn't work correctly. After an update these bug was away, but after version 1.3.7 other bugs come along. Some invisble zones were visible, some actions were executed extremely slow and the sound doesn't work in most of cases. I can't check whether this is all right, because I have't an iPhone. But some forum users had reported exactly these errors. A player of a Wherigo of mine has played with iPhone and player version 1.4.2. He NEVER has heard a sound, although my game is full of sounds. On all androids and iPhone player version 1.3.7 all is ok. So perhaps try to "downgrade" to 1.3.7
