Geocaching and Toastmasters

Recently I had been complaining that I had never really run into a fellow geocacher. Well now I can say I have-this time with a twist. I had just finished finding a brand new geocache put out from by some school students involved with Creek Connections when someone pulled up beside me in their car. I recognized the person and he said he was going geocaching. He was expecting me to say "geo who?". He was from my Toastmasters club. He is a newby and I have placed some 20 caches and have found almost 50. I told him my "handle" and he said he found two of mine. He said that his next speech (next week) will be about Geocaching. Small world.

We were checking the logs of some caches we'd been to about 150 miles from us and saw a code name we recognized from our other hobby, Miatas. We emailed the person and it was one and the same. We thought it neat to make the link in two hobbies. I guess we'll have something besides cars to talk about at the next club get-together!

Couple weeks ago, I was looking at caches in northern Mich., saw one hidden by a couple, wife's name matched someone at work, I copied the page, took it in and asked, "Is this yours?" "YOU DO THIS TOO? ISN"T IT GREAT?"
