As stated above, make a list of what you are using it for. In addition to the Etrex 20, there are some very good deals currently on the Oregon 4xx/5xx series as a new model has just come out. Depending on your needs, this can be better or worse...

If you want touch screen at a bargain price, the Garmin Dakota 10 is a good unit. The Etrex 20 is very good.

If minimum price is what matters most, The Etrex 10 will also get the job done and compared to a yellow Etrex, it will be like riding a jet versus riding a car across the country. I think the main argument against the Etrex 10 is it doesn't have much memory and easy to run out of memory after loading 500+ caches.

The Magellan GC also would be a good choice if on a budget, however there has been durability issues with them & it still struggles to maintain a lock in dense environments although much better then the original Etrex yellow. The new firmware for the 2.15 runs real well now.

BTW - I still have my original Etrex yellow and it still works although it's resting in retirement now.

How do I find the "good deals"?
