MasonEagle
Newbie needs GPS Unit. I'm interested in a basic started model. If amyone has a unit they might consider selling, please let me know. Or, if you know where to get a good deal, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to stay to about $100 to start with. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Ttepee
Someone was talking about the etrex venture being on sale at Target for $89 this week. That's a great deal. Quote Link to comment

+CWL
If you're only going to spend $100 I would take tkalen's offer. If you still want to get a new one yourself and still only want to spend $100 I would recommend a Magellan 315. The Yellow E-trex by Garmin has a poor antnna. I've seen cachers head out into the woods with one and immediately lose sat coverage. From my experence with various GPSrs I havn't seen a Magellan I didn't like, but the high-end Garmin's are really nice too. I dislike the low-end Garmins though. Quote Link to comment
MasonEagle
Went through the budget and the money is just not there right now. Guess Christmas got the better of me! Appreciate the feedback and maybe I'll be able to get one in a few months. Looks like a lot of fun! Quote Link to comment

Team155
I purchased a Etrex Venture from Target yesterday for $91.37 including tax. Seemed like it was the least expensive way to go when getting our Boy Scout Troop started into GPS. I hope that it will be a great activity for them to do on campouts. Quote Link to comment
