+carsonsig
I am doing a compass primer before we go do our regional scouting Orienteering meet with our cub scout pack... I want to do a dozen or so points in our park, and make a few courses that the kids have to do ... go from start, .2 miles 90 degrees, mark the code, go .1 miles 270 degrees etc... in mapsource, is the Routing tool the best to measure distance and bearing between waypoints that I have marked on my GPSr (etrex 20)...? is there a better way/tool to do this? I just want to be able to pick 2 waypoints and know the distance and bearing between them... OR if there is some site that does this auto, that would be awesome too... I know some of you have done this! thanks for any tips! Carson Quote Link to comment

Set the category to Waypoints, and the bearing and distance to the nearest waypoints will be listed. Under Edit-Preferences you can choose between true and magnetic headings, meters vs. miles, etc. That's probably how I'd do it. Quote Link to comment
