+90%Angel
GEO-TRAVELLERS REGISTRY With the Costs of Travel continually on the rise many Cachers are limited in their ability to travel too far from home. What if there were a Registry of Host Geocacher Homes that would accommodate the Geo-Traveller for 1 to 3 nights. This would give Travellers the opportunity to plan road trips that could fit within their budgets and make it affordable to enjoy the Sport they love without worrying about the added cost of Accomadations. * Register your accommodations including specific amenities FOR EXAMPLE 1. 1 Bdrm, Queen size bed, suitable for 1 Adult or 1 Couple , with/without children etc... 2. Sm pet O.K? / or No Pets? 3. Closest Shopping .............within 2 blocks – 5km 4. List of Recommended Geo-Trails, Favorite Restaurants etc.. 5. Parking/RV parking? 6. Wifi availability or closest Wifi connection.? 7. Stay over hours .. ie: need to be out by 8:00 am, back before 6 not later than 9pm? 8. Maximum stay ...specify 1,2 or 3 nights? 9. # of Bathrooms/ Shared or Private? 10. Wheelchair accessible? 11. Specify whether use of Kitchen for breakfast only, is available.? 12. Smoking (out doors only)? 13. Book a minimum of 1 month in Advance 14 What is the BEST time of year for Geo-caching to visit your area? 15 Closest Large City? 16 What are the travel times to avoid due to excessive Traffic etc..? Qualifications: > Any Cachers making bookings must belong to a Geo-association ..ie: BCGA or WWGA >Must have found a minimum of 100 geo-caches. This is to prevent people who are just looking for free accommodations from signing up. >Should have Profile on Geocaching.com available to view. >When Registering, you must provide all of the above information as well as your Geo-cache name and the town you live in, an email address, and a calendar of available dates and black out (not available) dates Liability: This is a self registry. You take responsibility for your own accommodations and subsequent home insurance. ** It would be nice for each Traveller gift their host with a Special Un-activated Geo-coin or personal signature item, however this is completely up to their discretion. **Travellers should expect that sometimes ‘life events happen’ that could result in cancellation of visits. Please be prepared with a ‘back up’ plan. (ie: extra cach in case emergency accommodations are needed Correspondence between Host and geo-guests should take place via email / phone at Hosts convenience. International guests should speak basic conversational English It is entirely up to the Guest to arrange their own Transportation unless otherwise agreed upon. Registration could possibly be linked through local Geo-caching Associations. Ie: BCGA , WSGA Edited February 11, 2013 by Keystone Quote Link to comment

+jpbarr
This sounds like Couchsurfing for Geocachers. We are already signed up to that and have had quite a few people stay with us. We would be happy to sign up to this if it works. In fact we had a fellow Geocacher from Germany stay with us before going up to Mega Finland together. Quote Link to comment
