+TeamFarfoot
TM Farfoot here with a newbie question. Can someone please explain the benefits and uses of GSAK? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
Geocaching Swiss Army Knife is a PC-based software that allows users to parse GPX files from Pocket Queries into an offline database. From there, various queries, summaries, calculations and data manipulation can be accomplished. The software even allows users to refresh data through use of the API connection. Users can also use the software to upload this manipulated GPX data directly to their GPS units. However, it should be noted that while GSAK would not exist without Geocaching.com data, and analysis of Geocaching.com data is greatly enhanced by GSAK, GSAK is not owned or maintained by Groundspeak. A very close analogy I recently used is to think of Geocaching.com like the data warehouse of the IRS, and think of GSAK to be like TurboTax. You'll find much more information on their forums: http://gsak.net/board/ Quote Link to comment

+SKAMS
I just want to mention that GSAK is not the only "Geocaching Database Manager" for Windows. There's also: GeoGet And new since a few months: GAPP (I am involved in this project a little bit) Certainly there are other programs I missed mentioning. Quote Link to comment
