TB Visit/Drop Question

I have activated a TB (in Nevada) that I plan on taking to Hawaii with me on vacation and dropping it in Hawaii. Do I need to "dip" or visit a cache in Nevada with the TB to get travel miles for the placement in Hawaii or is activating it in Nevada enough to start the mileage log?

There is no specific goal for the TB other than to travel as often as possible.

I'll add a question here, since it pertains to this topic. I already dropped a TB in a cache out of state, but forgot to visit a local cache. Is there any way to go back and add this to a local cache find in order to get the mileage calculated?

You can.... if it is not currently in somebody else' hands. That is the tricky part, as you must make sure you can do your "magic" while it is resting in a cache.

Very quickly, "grab" it and log it into a cache of your choice (at home), do so with a drop and a retrieve or "visit" (using the proper date), then return it to the cache it is placed in currently. Delete your grab and replacement logs. Do this quickly and don't drag your heels.

Edit to add: Personally, we like to activate TB's and release them in (more-or-less) far away caches, rather than directly from nearby home.

Thanks. I've dropped others in caches without logging near home, but we really wanted this one to start from home and travel around. The kids like seeing it on the map. Thanks for the help, it worked perfectly.
