+matgat
Hi, I would like to know if I can geocache with the same style of map that I used with the Geocaching app on my iPhone because the map on my Etrex 20 is all black with only the major roads. Do I have to buy a specific map? Here's a screenshot of what I would like to have! Quote Link to comment
seldom_sn
Your Etrex requires a map to be installed beyond the basemap. Suggest you try http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ for free Garmin maps or pay for City Navigator maps. Edited June 30, 2012 by seldom_sn Quote Link to comment

Do I have to buy a specific map? Here's a screenshot of what I would like to have! I have the E-trex 20 with City Navigator and it does everything that you're asking except I use an Android with it. With pocket queries I hardly use the Android anymore. Quote Link to comment
+matgat
I've put the OSM map in my Etrex, do I have to disable the basemap and just keep the OSM enabled map or do I leave both enabled? By the way, thanks for your answers guys ! Edited June 30, 2012 by matgat Quote Link to comment

Play around with the settings and see what suits you best. I disable all bar the one I like to use. Quote Link to comment
tr_s
It is generally not necessary to disable the basemap, it will only show any noticeable detail (the rough altitude relief) when you are zoomed out anyway. Quote Link to comment
