  1. I use Zip Opener app to send the two files to the desktop then drag and drop onto the Garmin file in my Etrex 20. Haven't had a problem since I started using this app.
  2. I had the same issue while in Tahiti. We are from California and it took the etrex 20 a good 10 minutes to lock on.
  3. How about a Kindle Fire? Is there a way to upload a pocket querie to my e trex 20? Thanks.
  4. Yea, I had the same problem with my etrex and Windows 10 . I started using an app called Zip Opener and sending the Pocket Query to the download file on my desktop. From there I could drag and drop the two files (caches and waypoints) to the GTX file on the etrex. Hope I made some kind of sense.
  5. We did a Mediterranean cruise last November and did a lot of caching while in different ports. I did pocket querries and purchased a City Navigator Europe micro sd card for my etrex. Got it on Ebay for cheap.
  6. Thanks for the response. I did exactly that with my old computer using Vista. I would download the zip file using Easy GPS and would receive two files that I would drag and drop into the Garmin/ GPX folder on my etrex. With Windows 10 I just get one file that opens to a map of all the caches. The etrex doesn't recognize the one file if I drag and drop it.
  7. Anybody having trouble with Easy GPS on new Windows 10? When I save a pocket querie it saves it as one zip file instead of two. Normally caches in one and waypoints in another. When I double click on it, it unzips and I get an Easy GPS window with 1000 caches on it. No way to drag and drop to my Etrex 20. Thanks for any response.
  8. For a Garmin, plug it into a USB port, wait for the PC to recognize it. Right-click your Pocket Query, select "Extract All", and you get two GPX files (one is caches, other has parking coords, if any). Copy both to /GARMIN/GPX on the Garmin device. This in fact unzips the Pocket Query, but without special software. Thanks for the response but I don't have the option to right click on the pocket query. Only to how do you want to open it which is with Easy GPS. It opens unzipped on the Easy GPS page showing a thousand caches. Any other ideas? Thanks again. Does the file name end with "ZIP", or "GPX"? If GPX, that might explain what is happening. The only program you've installed that may open a GPX is "Easy GPS". If you'd like to allow Windows to unzip files, and another program is set as the default, you can change that, using this info. If you don't need Easy GPS, delete it, and that should automatically restore the right-click and double-click Windows Unzip function. Good luck! Thanks for the help but nothing worked until I downloaded a program called Zip Opener. Works great but I just have to rename the files to GPX for the E trex to accept them. Thanks for all the help.

  10. Good morning. When I click on my new pocket querie my Windows 10 computer asked me what to open it with. I pick Easy GPS. It opens to a map with a thousand caches on it. Is there a way to do this that will not unzip the file so I can drag and drop to my GPS? Thanks for any help.
  11. Yea, I did that and I get the easy gps window that shows the thousand caches that I submitted in one big ball. It seems to unzip the file with no way to drag and drop to my etrex. Thanks for the response but do you have any other ideas?
  12. Ok, any idea how to do that? Thanks for the response.
  13. Hi everyone. I just bought a new computer with windows 10 and downloaded easygps. I ran a pocket query and opened it with the app and just get one zip file icon where I normally get two. The caches and the waypoints. So I dropped the one icon into my etrex 20 file with no caches showing on the etrex when I powered it up. I re-installed easy gps three times with no luck. Lot of smart people out there, any ideas? Thanks
  14. You can if you want. Normally with my windows vista computer I would drag and drop the two unzipped files to the etrex gpx folder. Might be an issue with windows 10.
  15. PQs need to be unzipped. The two .gpx files can then be loaded straight to the Garmin. Thanks for the response but I'm not getting two gpx files. Just the one that doesn't show up in the etrex. I choose to open the file with easy GPS and just get the one icon zip file. No 'middle' software needed. (Other than an unzipper!)

  17. Well the SD card came in and I put it into my e-trex 20 with a PQ of Venice, Italy And it works great. Thanks for all the input.
  18. We're heading for Italy and France in November and would like to do a little caching while there. I bought a refurbished City Navigator Europe micro sd card on ebay. Has anybody used one of these and if I load a pocket querie will the caches show up on a detailed map with the sd card inserted in my e-trex 20. Thanks in advance for any info I can get.
  19. It doesn't seem to work with Firefox either. I can't get an update on my e-trex.
  20. When we cruise we always use pocket queries installed on our etrex 20. The data charges can be brutal when caching with a cell phone.
  21. Tried it and a "web updater has stopped working" warning came up. I probably need to try another computer at another location. Thanks for the help sussamb.
  22. Still says unable to connect. Maybe a Firefox issue. Thanks for your response anyway.
  23. I can't seem to get on to the Garmin site for an E-trex 20 update. It's always "page not found". Anyone know what's up. Thanks.
