Hi there! Newbie with a question :)

Hey people! New to this thing, already addicted. Felt no shame in becoming a Premium Member right after my first cache run. I do have a question I'd like to ask to remain safe: when I log a find, is it okay to include a picture of myself with the cache itself providing it gives no information pertaining to the location? Just something I'd like to do so I can look back and remember. Thanks for any answers

You are "on the numbers" with your summation of a photo.

A photo with you or family members with the cache proper in-hand is fine (unless it is something unique and would directly affect the way other's hunt for it).

Revealing the actual hide itself is generally considered to be a no-no.

As GG has mentioned, as you find more caches you'll come across unusual/creative/surprising/jokey cache containers at the end of the search. If it's obvious that it's something special that the cache owner wants to be a surprise then please don't give away the fun by posting a photo of it on your log.

Also, when taking a photo of yourself, or others, at the cache location it's better to move 20+ ft away from the actual hiding spot.

Welcome Xavier,

It's kind of a common sense issue in my opinion. If you read a cache description page and it says your going to find an ammo can then I say post the picture of you with the ammo can, just not the hiding spot.

As the previous two posters said when you encounter one that is very sneaky, different or tricky don't post those pictures. You can post a picture of the gz, providing it's not going to be helpful on a puzzle or multi.
