+mimandpap Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 I have tried to do partial cache name searches and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. For example if I enter WSQ which is the beginning of most all cemetary caches in Wisconsin I get nothing. If I enter Big 10 I get them all. Is there any reason why it doesn't work consistently? Moun10Bike Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 "Big 10" is 6 characters (the space counts when between characters) while "WSQ" is 3. Any search less than 4 characters long looks for an exact match, so when you are searching on "WSQ" you are searching for caches named "WSQ" with nothing else in the title. This is done to reduce server load, as otherwise a search for something like "e" could return massive results. FYI, this board is for bug reports and feature requests.
