Downloading cache codes to Garmin eTrex H

I've finally got a cable to allow me to download waypoints to my eTrex H. I've managed to get them to download, but the field length for the GC code seems to be too short, so I only get the first 6 characters of a 7 point GC code. Consequently, if the cache series is something like GC26B8K, GC26B8R, GC26B8T, GC26B8Z then only the last uploaded of those stays listed in the device, as the first 6 characters of each waypoint is identical, so they overwrite previous ones. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Are you using gsak to download your waypoints?

 

If so, change the field note to: %drop2

 

That will drop the GC at the beginning of the gc code

It was Originally set up with the eTrex Vista HCx. I use the macro All The Time to send caches to our units!
