Geo Quest Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 I think this has been brought up before but I want to second it. I really like the ability to be able audit the caches I've placed. It's a very cool feature. Is there any way to place a public cache and still have the audit feature? Thanks.
Jeremy Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 This would require folks to register, since if you view a cache page all the web site knows is your IP address. I can already hear the shouts of "Elitist" breaking out. Would you still want to have the audit feature? Regarding mocaches, I'm considering allowing the owner the ability to allow non-subscribers access to their caches. Clicking on a request link would email the owner that a non subscriber would like to visit the cache. You can then approve or disapprove the viewing of the cache. kablooey Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 Actually, I don't think I have a problem with a cache-owner being able to specify that a user be logged into the site in order to view cache details.
Jake.Hazelip Posted March 10, 2002 Posted March 10, 2002 I don't have a problem controlling who has access to my cache. It is, after all, *my* cache. Nothing elitist about that at all, really.
