castledweller
Hi all We are new converts from enjoying walking to now treasure hunting with our boys and have purchased a Garmin GPSMAPS62S which seems great so far .... I have worked out the pocket queries and downloaded 500 local caches to the gps using Easy GPs - again very easy and recommended on here thanks Been out today and found five caches and on the gps have marked as found ( and three we couldnt find GRRRRRR ) but i cant see how i can then get them from the gps to my account to show them as found DOH !!! When i open easy GPS and attach the garmin it allows me to pull the geo's and waymarks off but when i click on the geocache button the log your find is not highlighted !!! I must be doing something wrong so any advice / idiots guides would be much appreciated Thanks Castle Dwellers Quote Link to comment
Team Batpony
You must go to the cache page on geocaching.com and then click "Log Your Find" in the upper right hand corner. Select whether you found or didn't, choose the date, and add some comments. Quote Link to comment
Bear and Ragged
Field Notes? http://www.geocaching.com/my/fieldnotes.aspx http://www.geocaching.com/my/uploadfieldnotes.aspx To upload Field Notes from your Garmin Colorado, Garmin Dakota or Garmin Oregon: 1. Plug your Garmin device into your computer with a USB cable. 2. Click "Browse" on this web page and go to the Garmin directory on your device’s drive. 3. Select the file named "geocache_visits.txt" and click "Upload" on this page to upload your Field Notes. 4. We recommend that you delete the "geocache_visits.txt" file on your device once your Field Notes have been successfully uploaded. Once the Field Notes are uploaded you can return to the Field Notes list page to start logging your finds. I suggest, once you've logged from the field notes, you delete the file from your GPS. It will be created new when needed. Edited August 29, 2011 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment

castledweller
Thanks I will try this when i get home It seems harder than i expected !! I assumed as I have uploaded 2500 caches via pocket queries and my gps lets me log the find or as a didnt find that it would automatically upload to this site but it dosent appear to - that would be too easy lol !! Keep on trekking Thanks again Castle dweller Quote Link to comment
Team Taran
Your gps does not have wi/fi or a cell phone signal. It can only connect if it is plugged into a computer and then only by you downloading or uploading content, Quote Link to comment
