wister6813 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I had to smile when I read this entry for FJ1011 FJ1011 STATION RECOVERY (1971) FJ1011 FJ1011'RECOVERY NOTE BY OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS 1971 (OCC) FJ1011'CAPITOL AZIMUTH RECOVERED GOOD. FJ1011' FJ1011'THIS MARK WAS DESTROYED ON 11/8/71 DURING EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION OF A FJ1011'HELIPORT AT GOVERNORS MANSION, WHICH WAS BEING CONSTRUCTED TO FJ1011'ACCOMODATE THANKSGIVING, 1971, VISIT BY PRESIDENT RICHARD M. mloser Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Way to overreact Oklahoma! As if the helipad couldn't be built 10 feet to one side, or even out of a material that wouldn't have destroyed the mark. There is no evidence of the pad on Google Earth, even going back to 1990. It was probably torn up soon after it was installed. Quote
