+Monkers
Hello people with knowledge, I've 3500 caches on my Garmin Oregon 550 and would like to view them on a map as good as google maps. How do I go about doing this??? Cheers Grant Quote Link to comment
+eusty
What map have you on the Oregon? The maps on my Colorado (talkytoaster) are as good as the google maps...although not a big. One thing is why have you that many on the GPSr? Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
One thing is why have you that many on the GPSr? Why wouldn't you load up the GPSr with as many as there are in an area where you normally travel to? I have about 1900 in mine, but that's only because my Oregon 300 can hold only 2000 geocaches. As for maps, give OSM (free) a try. It's different from Google, better in some areas, and not as good in others. No "satellite view" though - unless you pay Garmin for the subscription. The easiest way to have OSM maps in your Oregon is to go through http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php - the wait is very long now, so if you can avoid it, request for one of the pre-packaged state maps instead of customizing your own.
