+dukeofurl01 Posted March 28, 2011 Share Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) I was looking at KT1806 today, and it says: BY REQUEST OF THE PROPERTY OWNER AND GLENN COUNTY SURVEYOR, DUE TO A GARAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION, ORDS 2 1980 WAS ESTABLISHED AT THIS DATE. So it's safe to assume that it's not there, But I can't find this ORDS 2 1980 on the map. So I went to the location today (cause it's not very far away) and I didn't find the disc, but the witness post is still there, but making me think that the mark might still be there, and I'll have to go back with a metal detector and find it. I also accidentally found ORDS 2 1980 about 20 feet away. Complete with witness post and everything. But it's still not on the map. Why? Edited March 28, 2011 by DukeOfURL01 Quote Link to comment

How do you do that if you don't know a PID up front? You search by coordinates, or county, & I think designation. Use the datasheet recovery page. Try this page first. Wintertime Posted March 30, 2011 Share Posted March 30, 2011 For a 1980 mark, you could also do a "Nearest benchmarks" search from KT1806 on Geocaching.com. If it was entered into the NGS database in 1980, it will be in the Gc.com snapshot. Quote Link to comment
