Mapsource won't open files

I use Mapsource to download to my etrex. It's worked fine for several years, but sometime between mid-December and last week it stopped accepting my .loc files. Now when I try to open one, it tells me it can't open the files. The old files from December are still there, and they open. Can anyone tell me if something has changed that would make mapsource refuse to open my files and what to do about it?

I seem to remember that Groundspeak changed the format of the .loc files recently. In theory the change should not affect the xml reader, but probably has. Did you try a more recent version of mapsouce?

Yes, Groundspeak changed the format of the files and Mapsource cannot open them. Nobody told Garmin... These questions are better put at the Garmin forums.

Solution: Create an additional member account. Member loc-files do not include the new tags.

thanks, everyone. It appears that garmin has come out with a base camp update (3.1.3) that addresses the problem.
