+Monkey_Chops
I'm still pretty new to geocaching and am a bit confused by some coordinates in a cache listing. In cache GC156MP, I have solved the puzzle and believe my answer to be correct. When entering a waypoint to check it's location though, I am unable to enter 50. 77ABC4 as the 'minutes' only go up to 59. The spoiler contains two sets of coordinates - 1 makes sense and points to where I thought the cache would be anyway, but the other has 77 in the minutes place again. What do these coordinates mean? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+burtsbodgers
Hi Iwould think that it all part of the puzzle! although there is a useful other conversion link: http://www.geocaching.com/wpt/?lat=50.772915&lon=0.10141&detail=1 might be worth studying Quote Link to comment
+dfx
Looks like it's giving you coordinates in decimal degrees format. You can either convert them (see above) or switch your GPS to that format and then enter them. (That's too easy to be part of the puzzle IMO, and it looks like the solution is given in the spoiler anyway ) Edited February 3, 2011 by dfx Quote Link to comment
+Monkey_Chops
Fair enough. I shall look into decimal degrees format then! Thank you. Incidentally, I found the cache today anyway, without a GPS, as I know the local area and it's kind of obvious. But it intrigued me all the same! Quote Link to comment
