+chrisb012
Hi All, I wonder if you can help. I just updated my Colorado 300 via the Garmin Website. I followed the instructions, and manually started up the unit after download was complete. The unit didn't start up, and no matter what I do, it won't power up. It gets as far as indicating that it is 'loading maps' and then shuts down. Apart from junking it and starting again with a new unit, has anyone got any suggestions? Has this been seen before? Any help gratefully recieved. Chris Quote Link to comment
flyjazz
Try removing the SD card before starting the unit and make sure your batteries are fully charged. Connect your GPS to a computer and empty your GPX folder. Your software update may have been corrupted and may require another attempt to re-install the software. There is Wiki site for the Colorado that has older versions of the software and it may help by following the instructions. Quote Link to comment
+Butano
You might try doing a master reset as well. I believe that you hold down both soft buttons (just above the screen) while powering the unit on. The Colorado Wiki that was mentioned previously would have the correct instructions if that isn't it. http://garmincolorado.wikispaces.com/ Quote Link to comment
+chrisb012
Thanks both of you. Tried all the options, but no joy. I suppose I'll have to send it to Garmin. Cheers for the advice! Chris Quote Link to comment

+chrisb012
Does it work on the USB? Try THIS Thanks Northernpneguin and Splashy. I tried the suggestion, but my work PC won't let me attach the Colorado (admin restrictions, etc), and I own a Macintosh. I'll try it on a friend's PC later. Ta!! Chris Quote Link to comment
jbuffethed
I had an issue like this before, but it wasnt after an update. If you get a corrupt gpx file or maybe it didnt transfer correctly. It would turn on and immediatley fade off. Resending fixed it. Maybe try and re-appy the update if the above fixes dont work. Quote Link to comment
