In2TheWild
I upgraded my parents' membership to premium. I though this would allow them to perform a targeted search for only caches that have trackables in them. However, when I tried to show them how to do it, I couldn't find a way to actually do it! Is it possible to do this? Thanks, Mike. Quote Link to comment
+isjustus4
Yeah, you can do it with Pocket Queries. Quote Link to comment
+NanCycle
Pocket Queries will allow you to search for caches that have trackables *listed* as being in them; more often than not, however, they will not actually be there; at least that has been my experience. To increase the odds of actually finding them, read the logs to determine how long ago they were placed in the cache. When you find caches that do not have the trackables they are supposed to, notify the trackable owner and the cache owner, so that the trackables can be marked missing. Quote Link to comment
+michigansnorkelers
Yes, Pocket Queries will come up with a list of geocaches that ARE SUPPOSED to have travelers in them, but most will be gone! Virtually all trackables will be picked up by the NEXT geocacher to visit the cache. Check the cache page. If the date of the last cache log = the date the traveler was logged to the cache, then there is a good chance you'll find it there. Unfortunately, there is NO WAY to automatically search for this!!! However, if the traveler was dropped in the cache November 28, and the cache has been found on November 29 and 30, then the traveler is probably gone! Either taken and not logged, or muggled. Sad, but true. Quote Link to comment
+SSO JOAT
Pull full PQ for the region you're hunting in, then use GSAK filters to not only pick out those with listed TBs, but you can do a lot of fancy date & log filtering to get rid of the caches that likely do not have a trackable in them. The power of GSAK is only limited by your imagination when it comes to these kinds of searches. Quote Link to comment
