Vancouver, BC question

Next month I will be visiting Vancouver for several days (a work related stay). When I pulled up the city on Google Maps, I realized y'all are really into Geocaching there. Can anyone help me out and point me towards a few of the "must see" or "must do" caches? I'm hoping to pick up 5 or 6 in the evenings after the classes get out.

Where are you staying/going to class (approximately)? Do you have transportation?

 

Might help some of the locals in making some suggestions for you...

I will have transportation, but I'm not positive where I will be staying. It will be somewhere near Burrard/Robson.

If you only have time for a few caches after work, Stanley park is a good place to start. It's close to downtown and there are quite a few beautiful spots. Great photo ops.

 

If you want to travel a few km and get a LOT of caches in one stop, there is a power trail at Burnaby Lake. A cache every 160 meters. About 70 caches in total around the lake. Stop at piper spit with a load of bird seed. It's a designated wild bird feeding area (and an earth cache there too). Also a place to see beavers.

 

The trails along the north shore mountains are definitely the most beautiful. Lynn Canyon suspension bridge is free and there are a few caches in the area.

 

If you have time to travel out of the city a bit, GC127ZF Leviathan Lurking is perhaps the most unique cache on the planet. However, looking at the cache page the mechanism to lure the beast out of its lair is currently not working. If maintenance has been performed on the cache before you arrive I highly recommend it.

Leviathan sounds very interesting. Unfortunately, I doubt I will have daylight time to catch it and from the sounds of it daylight is necessary. If not, let me know and I'll give it a try if it is back up.

You can walk South from Lake City Way skytrain station to the lake, and start at Piper Spit. Or you can walk South from the Production Way skytrain station and start at the East end of the lake.
