Jackschula
I'm new to this and I need a bit of help choosing a gps for a beginner. I want something fairly accurate and easy to use, the only problem is we are hard on cash so I'm only looking to spend about $50. Any suggestions? Also I am looking on ebay for deals, but there are so many gps's out there I don't know which one would suit my needs best. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
You can certainly find a serviceable used unit for under $50, but there are good units out there and lousy ones. If you see something that interests you why not come here for an opinion and get the consensus thumbs up or down? Some models to look for: Magellan Meridian Gold or Platinum Garmin GPS V Garmin eTrex Vista, Vista C Garmin eTrex Legend, Legend C Garmin Map 76 or 76S Garmin 72 For older units stick with Magellan, Garmin and maybe Lowrance. Most of the other hand helds of other mfrs were pretty crappy years ago. Quote Link to comment
