Savypony
I've heard several cache styles described as a "Bamboozle style" hide. I have no clue what this means. Could anyone fill a newbie in on this and other hide style names? thanks. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Never heard of it. Perhaps Bamboozle is a local geocacher who has a certain style of hiding? You are best off asking the person who used the term. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Looks like my guess might be correct. Bamboozle is a LA geocacher who is a prolific hider. You're not too far from LA so my guess is that someone in the area is copying the Bamboozle style of hiding, whatever that might be. Quote Link to comment

+knowltonGeo
My gut response is that it was a fake hide. For example, when you've been bamboozeled, you've been tricked: bam·boo·zle (bm-bzl) KEY TRANSITIVE VERB: Informal bam·boo·zled, bam·boo·zling, bam·boo·zles To take in by elaborate methods of deceit; hoodwink. See Synonyms at deceive. But I notice there is a user named Bamboozle...so it must be his or her particular hiding style ... characterized by the difficulty of finding the cache? A cache that is hidden using elaborate means? Quote Link to comment

I have yet to find one hidden in this style *Shakes her fist at Hattiesbugr's March of the penguins* I will find you yet!! Edited August 20, 2010 by Savypony Quote Link to comment
+Dragery
We had a local hide called Bamboozled. It was a pun however. There was a section of about 200+ 1in diameter hewn bamboo chutes sticking out from the ground in a 15x10 foot area, the cache was just a log rolled up inside one of them with a camo'd cap inside. This was the log when I retrieved it haha. Quote Link to comment

My husband and I have hunted that cache 3x and failed all 3.. I did email the owner to ask what he meant by it. Quote Link to comment
+Xejmeyr
As someone who is from Louisiana and knows the great Bamboozle personaly. I can cay that a "Bamboozle hide" is a cache that is hidden in the particular style of Bamboozle himself. Quote Link to comment
Savypony
From what I can see(I went after a of Bamboozle today) its a film canister hung in a tree by a coil of clothes hanger. Ive seen 2 such hides now and both labeled as bamboozles. Quote Link to comment
+Xejmeyr
That is one type of hide that is considered a Bamboozle type hide Quote Link to comment

+geodarts
My favorite Bamboozle hide is, of course, View Carre. It would be nice if more cachers used this style, but it is a rather unusual location. Quote Link to comment
+Xejmeyr
View Carre is a very unique cache. I did that one for my 100th find. It was quite the experience. Quote Link to comment
