You might check your field notes if you have been using a smart phone app rather than logging them directly on geocaching.com. It might be simpler to log them again through the web site and make sure they are subitted okay. Quote Link to comment

I logged 5 (total 7 )over the weekend and 3 said it was private.. This morning it still shows 2. As you can tell I'm a newbee. This past weekend I went to the mountains upstate Az. with 7 friends with rv's. Most off the finds were off road (4 wheeling). I'm sure there were at least 4 new converts to Geocaching. Went GC in AZ this summer and had a ball! Are you sure you clicked on "found it" on the drop down? Some times the site can be a little goofy. Quote Link to comment

I'm sure there were at least 4 new converts to Geocaching. I can't remember ever seeing a "private" message for a log. Again, if you are using field notes or a smartphone caching app, there may be some wrinkles, but here are the basic instructions for logging a find. Make sure you have the right log type and pressed the submit button. Your profile page also should show you the most recent logs (in addition to the find totals) so if something is not appearing there, you have a problem. Go to the basic instructions and log it on line through the geocaching.com web page. Your log should appear immediately on the cache page after you submitted it.
