Garmin 60 cx

hi all newbie here, just got myself the above GPS , yep, just a wee bit lost then, my co-ordinates page seems to show this NS 8054,,, and brng 4025 etc instead of real co-ordinates, how do I change this?, I'm near Falkirk can anyone take me under their wing and show me how to get the best out of my new hobby ?

NS 8054 sounds like it's set for Ordnance Survey co-ordinates...

I have a 60cs, which is an earlier model. However, I think it may be similar enough to help.

Here's how to do it on my unit.

 

Go to the main menu screen

 

Select Setup

 

Select Units ... on the Unit page, select MAP DATUM and pick WGS 84.

michigansnorkelers is on the right track but it's not the MAP Datum but the position format. My guess is that your position format is set to "British Grid" and should be set to "hddd mm.mmm"

Does anyone use 'tyre' mapping programme for their PC ?

I haven't heard of the software you mention. I use Garmin Mapsource with City Navigator here in the U.S.
