+bobandrobin
Hello folks, I'm submitting a cache focusing on blues history in my area and would really like to include a link to a you tube video. I would love to have the link open automatically as background music but that might be asking too much. The title of the song on the video and the cache name are the same, it would sure fit well on the cache page if I can make it happen. Any suggestions about how to do this? Thanks. +Mezgrman
You can't embed a video directly into the listing, but a link should be ok. AFAIK you CAN embed background music, but I'm not sure if Groundspeak permits that... or why haven't I seen a listing with music yet? Quote Link to comment

+Mezgrman
You have to write the description in HTML where a link would look like the following: <a href="http://www.geocaching.com/">This is a link</a> which would result in This is a link. Quote Link to comment

OK...Looks like a job for Robin. I haven't got a clue what HTML is or does. I'll post results. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
+bobandrobin
This is where I should say how much I love a challenge...Got-r-done though. "Ashley Street Blues" Now I'm thinking about dressing up some old caches, may be back. Quote Link to comment
+ipodguy
Hypertext is relatively easy. I don't think we are able to embed video into the descriptions, but if you have any trouble with html or can't figure out how to write it correctly, PM me and I can fire out some code for ya. +Topper-Tsennya
I don't think embedding the video directly onto the short or long description of the cache would be allowed, I believe it says no frames or i-frames (which is what I would use to embed the video). It also says something about Java and Flash being a no-no... and Youtube is flash. But a link that takes you to a vid.. That should be allowed... or if its just one video, you could place the link in the 'related website' box Edited July 31, 2010 by Topper-Tsennya Quote Link to comment
