I don't have a car so I will have to metro to where we are going or better yet, if you have a car, i am willing to chip in on gas and stuff. I consider myself a beginner trailer but I have just recently done a palisades parkway 29 mile trail and picked up some caches while hiking with the meetup group. Perhaps someone can pick you up at a train station. Also check this link for hikes in the region accessible by bus or train.
