Hi,

New to geocaching and have an adroid phone. Is there an app yet? I downloaded Geobeagle but I am having trouble logging onto bcaching.com with my geocaching.com username/password. I have a premium account. Help!

A Geocaching account isn't automatically recognized by bcaching.com (I think). You still have to make an account there, but you CAN use your same user name if you want..

Correct, you have to use a seperate bcaching account.

Personally, I prefer using (reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak). It's perfect minus GPX/LOC support, which they are adding soon. Easy as pie to use, just hit mail.google.com, download your gpx, and pop it open with (reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak).

(reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak) is the most fully featured and easiest to use app on the market minus the lack of gpx/loc support. I highly recommend it. However, the GPS on my phone (moto droid 2.2) isn't that accurate, I'd suggest getting an actualy GPSr.

Apparently GS doesn't approve of the app I'm referencing. Check out:

<Removing link to unauthorized application. Note that the automatic removal of the application reference in your post above should have been a strong hint not to post a link to it.>

If Groundspeak doesn't have an authorized Android application, what's the harm in posting about some application? If GS feels so strongly about this, get us an "authorized" application that we can use on Android!

Try (reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak) [link to banned app removed by moderator]

The app in question violates the terms of use that we all agreed to follow. Discussion of apps like GeoBeagle that respect the TOU is fine.

arwjjones, I've used GeoBeagle for quite a while now, but I've never tried to use it with BCaching. Have you followed the instructions here?

Are you aware of the GeoBeagle email group?

Yes, as noted by niraD, applications that violate the site Terms of Use may not be discussed on the Groundspeak forums.

Do not post links or other information about those applications.

Applications that are in compliance with the Terms of Use may be discussed.

GeoBeagle is good. GeoHunter is better (and also free).

You have to sign up for Bcaching separately.

Also, you can use the Search Online feature to find nearby caches to your current location. Or download PQ files to your computer then transfer them to your phone.
