alliegee
Hello there! I am new to geocaching! I am using a Garmin GPSmap60CS (not CSx) that my Dad loaned to me when he got a new GPS. Was very happy to see the 60CS had a geocaching function. I am successfully able to send caches to my GPS, hit "find geocache," and follow the map in order to find them. The instruction manual says that my compass screen is supposed to "become" a geocache-friendly compass where I can select "found" when I found the cache. This hasn't happened; the compass page stays the same. Does anyone know how to get into this mode? The instruction manual indicates that this should happen automatically when I go to "find geocache." It's a little harder to get info on this since this particular GPS is kinda old. Any help would be appreciated -- thanks! Allie G. Quote Link to comment

You must use the assigned geocache icon (normally the closed treasure chest) and be in "off road" navigation mode. Go to menu/menu/setup/routing and select "prompted" as the guidance method. Choose "off road" when prompted after selecting " Go To" on the geocache page. Quote Link to comment
+ventura_kids
Yep. What he said. Just use the FIND button and then select GEOCACHE on the little icons. From there you can select the Nearest geocache or search by name. That should get the little FOUND button to appear on the compass screen. You should be able to get the manual on-line for free. alliegee
THANK YOU! I was not "Off Road" -- I figured it had to be something like that. I appreciate your speedy help!!! Now it works like a charm. Just what I was looking for. Yay! Allie G. Quote Link to comment
