+happycycler Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 On a trip last weekend to Tulsa, OK I visited GG0413. It is an unremarkable disk but I was interested that it is used both as a section corner (cadastral) by the county surveyer and as an elevation benchmark (geodetic) by DOD and NGS. I know that other such multi-use marks exist but this was the first that I have had a chance to visit. Quote
+rogbarn Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 This weekend, I visited southern Illinois and found HB1861. It is an azimuth mark for HB1862 and is marked "U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service" and "Cadastral Survey". The main mark (HB1862) is a metal rod with an access cover. So, is this both a cadastral mark and a geodetic mark? It is set very similiar to the way I have seen regular geodetic markers placed here in the St. Louis area. Quote
