+kissguy&frannyfru
I have a garmin e-trex venture hc. When i download caches directly to the gps it saves it under the GC code,is there any way to set this up where it saves it by the cache name? Its a pain to have to through them all and change the gc code to the name so i know what im looking at. Quote Link to comment
NordicMan
Well you could download the caches to your computer desktop and massage the data in GSAK before sending it to the GPS.. or maybe there's an easier option that I'm not aware of? Quote Link to comment

Before you send, it gives you a screen to modify what is being sent. In the field "Waypoint name", I would recommend you insert the expression "%smart". That will give you a very short but unique and usually understandable version of the cache name. Quote Link to comment
