+Woodstramp
Cammengaman, I went through the same thing....didn't want to buy maps (online or at a map store). If you can locate a copy of Delorme's Topo software (ver. 6,7 or 8) you can create your own personalized maps on your printer. Maybe check Ebay. My preference is maps with UTM grids in 1:25000 and 1:50000 with standard (feet, mile) measurements. Delorme also sells an annual map subscription for $30 (cheaper on Amazon sometimes) and you will be able to create maps with Aerial imagery and USGS quads with whatever gridding you care for. It can be a booger to learn at first, but it is some really cool software. Quote Link to comment

+Viridios
Check whatever library or post-secondary institution exists in your area. For example, Brock University has a wonderful map library, with access to topo maps that you can photocopy, while Niagara College has maps available for use. Quote Link to comment
+coggins
does anyone know where i can get free printable utm maps with grid lines iv checked all over the internet and am coming up short of ideas, : thank you The USGS has them for free with UTM tick marks, used with Adobe Acrobat Reader and Terra to go and can even use your GPS to display your location. Easy to print GEOPDF files from Acrobat Edited April 1, 2010 by coggins Quote Link to comment
+billmc40
Can I put these on my Garmin $00T? The two lakes I fish and want to mark look better then google earth. Only problem I saw is that I would have to download four maps to got one complete one. Wondering if I could join them. BIllMc Quote Link to comment
