I could restart the GPSr, but every time I went back to try and restart the module, it would do the same thing...the screen would just pixelate and fade. I've been over to the Oregon Wiki and a couple other sites, but don't know enough about the inner workings of my GPSr to know whether the Beta or updates are designed to fix the problem. Appreciate any assist. I had the same unceremonious shutdowns as you describe after I installed the latest Garmin beta software (3.26) on my 550 yesterday. I went back to 3.20 and the shutdowns stopped happening... Have you tried running Garmin WebUpdater on your 550? Quote Link to comment

It says I have software version 3.20 so I guess that's where I want to be? I ran it to the Wherigo page and it's still on. Quote Link to comment
