emrldjetta
What does PID stand for? Is there a site that can provide some meaning or decipher all the number and letter abbreviations in the names of the various types of markers? Thanx, Kyle.... Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
Permanent Identifier, pid for short,I have found no where yet that you can get Identification for all the Symbols used by all the diffrent agencies. You just have to write each and have them send you the Legends(symbols) for their marks,B.L.M., U.S.C.&G.S., U.S.G.S.(N.G.S)Local surveyors use specific marks as well, Arrows on trees, double notches in trees there are so many variables to explain them all would take several texts.Arrow, usually points to the direction of the mark,Triangles represent Triangulation Stations, double hacks are property,(subdivision) lines through trees.Oh there is so much more to learn...... When all else fails Geotry again. Quote Link to comment
