+ePeterso2
The Podcacher folks are running a contest on when the number of active caches shown on the front page will tick over the 1,000,000 mark. I set up a script to save the number every 6 hours, and I noticed that the number changes between 00:00 and 06:00 US-Pacific time. Today, the 06:00 number is the same as the 00:00 number, and the value matches what's on the geocaching.com splash page. Did something change? -eP Link to comment
OpinioNate
We had a database upgrade last night that didn't end until 2:50am. Be careful, using automated tools is against the TOU and can get you banned. Link to comment

OpinioNate
Gotcha. Will switch to manual mode. Thanks for the info. Thanks. I'm sure it has almost no impact on the performance of the site but I'd hate for you to get throttled. Throttled by the site... not by our henchmen Link to comment
+ePeterso2
FYI - The cache count still hasn't updated - it's been stuck at the value 992,633 since Feb 23. Is something broken? Link to comment
+beejay&esskay
Uh oh. Are really going to be unable to determine the day we pass 1,000,000? Link to comment
OpinioNate
We're on it. Edit: The latest DB upgrade apparently wiped the schedule for the stored procedure that updates the number. We'll restore it shortly. Thanks! Edited February 26, 2010 by OpinioNate Link to comment
