Susie_Q
Heading to Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks area in about a month and I was wondering if there are some must do caches in the area. My family especially enjoys earthcaches. Thanks. Quote Link to comment

+c&s 143
There are a few earthcaches out there. Do you have a 4x4 vehicle? If so, go do GCM829 Shifting Sands Earthcache. Very cool place. If you are going to be in the Kitty Hawk area, check out GC13FZ7 Jockey's Ridge. Another very cool place with interesting history. There is another out there farther up north but I haven't done that one. Actually, I haven't done the Jockey's Ridge cache but I have been there MANY times before I was into caching. I am heading out there in early August and plan to do more caching. I have all the caches currently active on Hatteras island but need two on Ocracoke. I need a LOT north of Oregon Inlet though. Have a GREAT time!! Craig C&S 143 Quote Link to comment
+jopasm
Check out "A Trail of Two Cities" if you visit Fort Raleigh (aka The Lost Colony). It's a traditional cache but it's a learning experience. It's one of my favorites so far just because the story of the area is so interesting. Quote Link to comment
