+scrapes
I use the map source, Garmin Topo, to plan some routes. I've copied coordinates from geocache and pasted them into the topo then transferrred the route/track to my GPS. It works well. Is there anything else I should be doing or can use the map source program for? thanks Quote Link to comment
ao318
You can use it to store all of your finds on a map to help you locate new areas to place caches. Along with those final locations, you should keep all of the stages to a multi to place on the map. You can store this information in a different map then the one you use to create your routes. You can also store your tracks from your day of hiking to show you where you went. You can import information from GSAK to help you with your routing for the day. These are a few things you can do. +C@H
With a GPX pocket query you can convert it with GPSBable (free) or GSAK ($$) into a gdb format (mapsource) and open it in map source, no more copy / paste needed. Quote Link to comment

Why copy/paste at all...you can already open a Pocket Query (GPX file) in MapSource...no conversion necessary. You can even load it in Google Earth if you like. Quote Link to comment
