I got this rino as a gift just wanted to see what your thoughts were should I add city navigator or topo instead of the base map

 

Whew....only you can answer that question. If you're going to use it primarily (or exclusively) for off road hikes...then I'd suggest the Topo. If you want to use it for Auto-Routing, hunting addresses, and POI's...then the CN might be best -- OR, if money isn't too tight, buy the CN in DVD form, and Topo in CD form...load them on your PC, and then you can have the best of both worlds by loading the applicable map segments of each type for the coverage area you want.

Garmin Topo 24K is great for outdoors use, Navigator for getting around town to unknown destinations. Free (very good) maps available at GPSFiledepot.com. Use the search function for more specific info on maps.
