+CeeJay535
I am no longer receiving the weekly or notification of prople finding my caches. I can't find any spam blockers, I checked my profile "set up notifications" and I can't figure it out. Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
What ISP are you using for email? Some have been known to throttle emails from Groundspeak. Link to comment
+CeeJay535
I have qwest broadband. I used to receive the notifications, then as I was thumbing through GC.com I noticed one of my caches was found a couple days before, then I realized that I didn't get the notification. As far as I can remember, I hadn't done a thing to my email account. I'm stumped Link to comment
Dangermouse79
Is there a way to receive notification when a new cache is placed w/in a specific distance around my area? Link to comment
crawil
Yep, first you have to pay $30 per year to become a Premium Member. Then the option shows up on your page so you can set them up. Link to comment

Also, caches logged from the WAP site don't generated the notification emails. Link to comment
+CeeJay535
Just by accident I spotted "my controls" panel at the top of the page and I think to "email settings" and and changed settings there, maybe that will work. I guess I'll find out sooner or later. Thanks for the tips. Link to comment
AZcachemeister
...caches logged from the WAP site don't generated the notification emails. Just posted a find on your cache via WAP. Let's see if you are notified...I think you will be. Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Nope. No notification. And before I delete the log, are you in Virginia or Arizona today? Edited August 9, 2009 by Motorcycle_Mama Link to comment
AZcachemeister
Nope. No notification. And before I delete the log, are you in Virginia or Arizona today? Hmmm, OK! I just learned something. I would have sworn that had been changed sometime back, but perhaps the action (generates notification, doesn't generate notification) has flip-flopped more than once. OTOH, it wouldn't be the first time I had a clear memory of something that didn't happen! Concluding experiment now...log deleted! Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
I know that people have requested that it be "fixed", but I'm not sure I remember any official "response". I would imagine that the main website is likely the main priority right now. Link to comment
+CeeJay535
Perfect example of why I don't like going to the forum for answers. I have no idea what you people are talking about! Link to comment
Motorcycle_Mama
Check with your ISP and make sure that they aren't throttling emails from Groundspeak (more specifically from geocaching.com). Also, try using a GMail account instead (at least temporarily) to see if you are then getting the emails. The point that AZ and I were discussing is that when someone logs a cache find from the WAP site (ie from their cell phone) it doesn't generate a notification email. This may have contributed to your issue if users logged a cache via the WAP site. Link to comment
