  2. Hey there! The summer day camp I am working at this summer wants to include geocaching for one of its activities. Any ideas to make this fun for the kids for an entire week? It would be half day sessions each day. -thanks
  3. If you can't spend the time to think of a log for each cache, then don't find so many at a time. Or do field notes on your GPSr.
  4. I don't know if there is already a thread on this but I am not receiving the additional waypoints file with my PQ. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks, --mich5483
  5. I found a cache like that last week. Over 10 trackables missing.
  6. Thanks for all the replies! I will send the cacher a quick message to let him know. --mich5483
  7. I was just going though some of the logs posted on my caches today and noticed a blank log. For the amount of work you do to place and maintain a cache, you would expect a short comment on the cache. I mean even "TFTC" is better than nothing! I would just like some opinions on this and if you delete or keep the log. Thanks --mich5483
  8. GC.com still thinks it is in the hands of the first mover of the coin.
  9. Just open your email. It's just as easy. On a typical day, I check my email to find out the stuff I need to know in the geocaching world.
  10. Don't need any. I still have TONS from the lost and found at a camp I worked at this summer.
  11. ...still working on it. I think I have some idea now but still cannot get it.
  12. I have been caching since 2002 and have no clue here. What search word would you use in Google? Im pretty sure its the Baconian cipher. Googling it confuses me though.
  13. I have but no reply within three weeks now
  14. really? Ive been caching for almost a year now and have seen nothing like this! ...anyone gonna give me one little hint pleeeease?
  15. Sometimes the name, or description, may hold information that leads to the solution. Can you share the GCID? GC1XFHQ
  16. 17. Thanks everyone for the replies. All of your advice will help me with the placement of my next coin. The cold weather we got last week gives us no intentions to come back for a while! Ok, I will e-mail them. I left a note so that more TBs and geocoins don't get left in the slew of missing trackables.
  18. I bought a Canada 2007 geocoin so I could place it somewhere in England during my two week vacation. While caching during my vacation, I looked for a cache that gets visited somewhat frequently so that it would be picked up by another cacher quickly. I placed it in this cache thinking that it was the right cache. About a day later another cacher puts another trackable in this cache. A week later someone finds the cache and notes on the fact that there is no trackables in the cache. Reading that disappointed me very much as this was my first geocoin I have owned which never got any chance to be moved along. I’m guessing that there must be a thief that visits this cache periodically to take the trackables left in it. What I would like to know is: 1. Has what happened to me ever happened to you? 2. What do you look for in a cache before you place your trackables? Thanks, --mich5483
  19. I just bought my first geocoin the other week which I will be taking with me to place while on vacation. I hope that that people taking my coin remember to log it. There is nothing more frustrating than people losing yours or other peoples trackables.
  20. I bike to about 95% caches I find. Bikes are very useful for long distances on trails to find caches.
  21. You guys are right. I looked at the recently published cache, and it was hidden two days before mine. Thanks for the replies.
  22. Hello fellow cachers, I submitted a new traditional cache almost 3 days ago and my cache has still not been reviewed or published. Today, a cache about 2km from mine got published by our local reviewer. There has been no note left behind by a reviewer on the cache page. I did recieve the e-mail stating that my cache has been submitted. What should I do? Wait longer or contact my local reviewer? mich5483
  23. I would think that it's safe to assume that if they are posting on the site they are logged into it. Not exactly. When I post on the forums I first need to log in. GC.com and these fourms require you to log in seperatly.
