memory card for Garmin 60csx

Recommended Posts

I'm posting this again because some one erased or censored my last post on this. I don't know why, I was never informed of any problems.

I am just starting geocaching and am getting a Garmin 60csx. I read the memory card will hold waypoint and other location data in addition to map down loads. I have also read it is only used to hold map information and nothing else.

Can anyone give me the correct information on what the memory card is used for?

Thank You

I have the same question plus one. Does anyone know if there is a size limit to the memory card I can replace the stock card with? Will a 1 GB card have any problems?

Here's someone using a 16 GB card. Of course, the maximum file size is 4 GB.

I too greedily upgraded to 3.9 after just getting mine a week ago. I wanted to make sure I had all the newest updates and firmware.

I'm running a 16 GB card in it with all the detailed road and topo maps of Canada in it with no problems so far (knock on wood). I have full use of USB Mass Storage and haven't had it reset or recalculate when driving around.
