Tooeygeotrashed
Loch Garten near Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands has a nesting pair again, 'EJ' - a Female arrived back on the 25th March, she came back on the very same day last year. On the 3rd of April she was joined by an unringed Male who has been named 'Odin'. Quote Link to comment
+Madjon and Suz
Been to the roaches near Leek over the past week, they have a nesting pair of peregrines, saw them feeding on the moor behind the escarpment. Fantastic ! Quote Link to comment
The Red Kite
Great news for Welsh and visiting 'geo birders'... Wales now has a second pair of nesting Ospreys! These eagle like birds are best viewed on the Afon Dyfi from GC1E6FE Great news! I was wondering yesterday whether they were back yet. Last year I got a great view twice of an osprey on the nesting platform near Dyfi Junction. Still trying to get over to do the cache tho! Quote Link to comment
dysynni squeezeboxers
Just a note of interest....the first Welsh Ospreys appeared back in 2004 and has attracted some 180,000 visitors. O.K....here are the best options to view the Dyfi Ospreys. 1. To watch the Ospreys fishing ramble in to the Dyfi from the village of Pennal or Cwrt. 2. Take the train to Dyfi Junction....the birds are viewed from the north end of the station platform. 3. Visit the hide at the Cors Dyfi Wildlife Reserve... web cam & CCTV should be up and running soon. 4. Just...visible with scope from the RSPB hide at Ynys Hir. Quote Link to comment
