ArizonaGolfer
I know there have been several topics around this, but I haven't come across exactly what I need. I have been successful in installing all relevant software (Topo 7.0, GSAK, etc.), ran PQ to create .txt file, imported to GSAK, exported to Topo 7.0. But I can't figure out how to import into my PN-40. I am admittedly a newbie but a relatively sophisticated tech so I am probably missing something easy!! Any guidance will help me get started on some caches in the next couple of days! Thanks. AZGolfer Quote Link to comment
briansnat
First, don't convert your PQ to a text file. Use the "export to GPX/LOC". Then load that file into Topo 7 and send to your PN-40 Quote Link to comment
ArizonaGolfer
OK, thanks that helps. Guess I don't need GSAK. However, now that I have everything in Topo, I use the handheld export tab to exchange the information - I get the map loaded to the PN-40, but I can't see the comments in the handheld (I can see them in the Draw tab in topo so I know they are there). The PN-40 guides are not clear on how to see that information. Thanks again for your help! Quote Link to comment
Rockin Roddy
First, choose a cache from the list, you'll then see the option to view, route etc, scroll up one to the name of the cache and select it, the info is there. To scroll quickly on a cache page (or the cache list page) use the in/out buttons! Quote Link to comment
ArizonaGolfer
Got it - sometimes you just feel like a nut.... Heading out right now to try this out. Thanks everyone. Quote Link to comment
embra
If you *want* to use GSAK for any reason, let us know and we'll give you the current state of the art combination of GSAK macros and Firefox scripts to load multiple caches. But if you're good with what you got...cache on! Quote Link to comment
randyrucker
Why don't you just send the PQ to the PN-40 using: http://www.findcache.info/pn40/ ? Quote Link to comment
