I am listening to Geotalk, an Aussie podcast, and I have heard him talk about smiley faces indicating finds. Quote Link to comment

I'm pretty sure it's NOT possible to get the smiley faces in the Google Earth kmz. What the Geotalk guy was talking about is probably the Google Map icons. Quote Link to comment
