+yazzoocity
Today me and some friends went caching for the first time in months. I have to gps's a garm 60csx and a Garmin Etrex Legend. For some uknown reason the Legend shut down and there is now a vertical blue line on the right side of the display. It is there whether the unit is turned off or on. I was able to get it to come back on and it is now working okay, but the blue line is still there. Is this a sign that the screen is starting to go out? it is only two years old and i have only found about 100 caches with it.haha Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Yazzoocity Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
An update to the latest firmware will fix the problem. You might have to remove the batteries to shut off the unit (if you can see the line it's still on) Quote Link to comment
zorakk
The blue line problem is quite common in the legend. You merely need to go to garmins website and download the latest firmware update for your unit.I just hope you have the serial cable and a PC that still has a serial port. After you do the update check to see if the joystick works correctly. After i updated mine the joystick now only works in 2 directions. aznaturist
If you do not have the interface cable, simply disable WAAS in setup. THIS WORKS! Quote Link to comment

JIMBOB
Thanks! I picked up a legend for a few dollars and this fix got it running. Happy Caching! Quote Link to comment
