Does the GPS automatically update for the change in Daylight Savings?

I had somebody ask me this question, and I did not know the answer so I'm wondering if anyone on here does. The question asked was will the gps automatically adjust to the new daylights savings changes (Canada recently changed the dates of when daylight savings occurs) or do we have to do a firmware upgrade to the GPS? Does anybody know the answer? I'm using a Garmin 76s.

My wife and I use the older 60CS and 76CS and although they do both adjust for daylight savings, they do it according to the old schedule still, so the time on our units are usually out by an hour for a few weeks twice a year. We don't see this as a big deal though. And since our units are no longer supported by Garmin, there are no new firmware updates that fix the daylight savings problem, so I suspect your 76s would be in the same situation as ours. The x units do seem to adjust for daylight savings at the correct time.

Most units have a selection to either follow DST or not.

If selected they will update it automatically.
